Lifetime Structural Integrity Limited Warranty
Zenon floors warrants, to the original purchaser (cannot be assigned or transferred), that it is first quality material, in its original manufactured condition, will be free from any manufacturing defects in milling and dimension for the lifetime of the floor. Zenon floors engineered flooring is warranted against de-lamination of the top layer due to bond line failure. This limited warranty does not cover the normal expansion and contraction of wood flooring due to seasonal changes.
Cupping, buckling, checking, or other wood movement due to moisture conditions outside of NWFA guidelines is not warranted.
Residential 25-Year Finish Wear Layer Limited Warranty:
Zenon floors warrants, to the original purchaser, that the factory finish will not wear through or separate from the wood for 25 years, from the original date of purchase, on all prefinished flooring sold by Zenon Floors when used in normal residential traffic conditions.
Zenon Floors Limited Warranty Exclusions
The color and grain variations created in a living tree are Natural. These natural characteristics include mineral streaks, knots, and other variations commonly found in Live sawn material. These are not considered defects. Please understand flooring can and will vary from samples or pictures shown.
Hardwood flooring can have color changes because of natural and artificial light; these changes are not covered by the Zenon warranty. NOTE: Area rugs and furnishings can shield the floor from light resulting in uneven aging.
All hardwood flooring is a natural product, it will expand and contract due to seasonal changes. This is not a product defect.
Zenon Floors SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDES ANY WARRANTIES BEYOND THOSE DESCRIBED HEREIN.
Without limitation, this would exclude warranties for indentations, scratching, damage caused by misuse, negligence, accidents, fire, insects, pets, high heel shoes, sand, and other abrasives, improper storage/handling or maintenance, furniture (chair legs or casters), appliances, walkers, canes, scooters, wheelchairs and misuse or improper alterations of the original manufactured product.
Failure to follow NWFA Installation Guidelines will void the Zenon warranty. Issues of workmanship by the installer are outside Zenon’s control and cannot be covered. Use of any Tape on top of any Zenon floor is solely at the responsibility of the user. Zenon does not recommend the use of tape on the floor for any extended timeframe as urethanes are not made to resist upward pull. Due to this fact Urethane peel can occur when removing tape.
Movement due to moisture changes, including construction methods or materials, plumbing, other trades, and weather or natural disasters is excluded. Cupping or crowning, changes in width, thickness, and length, checking/splitting, etc. are all moisture issues. Warranties described herein apply to Zenon flooring only.
INSTALLATION OF ANY FLOORING CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF the Flooring, The GRADE, The MILLING AND The FINISH.
Incidental damages are also excluded from warranty, including but not limited to loss of use of flooring or facilities/equipment, loss of profit or revenue, downtime, etc.
CONFIRM PRIOR TO INSTALLATION that the flooring is of satisfactory appearance, including any variations when mixing widths and/or products of different production times.
Once installed, Zenon will not honor any claims concerning the appearance of the floor.
Gloss reduction is not considered a finish failure.
This writing is the complete and exclusive statement of the limited warranty and is in lieu of all other expressed and/or statutory warranties. Zenon assumes no liability for incidental or consequential damages. However, some states do not allow the exclusion of limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights as they vary from state to state.
Claims Information
In the unlikely event that any portion of your Zenon floor should fail with respect to the provisions of the limited warranties, Zenon Floors, at its sole option, to the original purchaser, will repair, refinish, or replace such portion at no cost to you with the same product or one of equal value. If Zenon is not able to correct the failure after a reasonable number of attempts, Zenon will refund, if requested, the purchase price for that portion of the floor that fails.
To file a claim, first contact the Zenon retailer where the original purchase was made Claims must be filed within the warranty coverage period with information verifying date of purchase, such as the retail sales receipt for the flooring. Zenon Floors reserves the right to have an NWFA Certified Inspector designated by Zenon to inspect the floor and remove samples for analysis. Any attempt to repair, replace, or refinish prior to Zenon having the opportunity to inspect and approve corrective action will void this limited warranty.
Commercial Warranty is 3 years,
Commercial Recommendations and exclusions are the following:
Zenon Recommends when putting a Zenon floor in a Commercial application that additional Commercial Grade finish should be considered. This is depending on the type of application and expected foot traffic at the specific site. Commercial finishes can be applied as added protection, a recommended finish is Bona Traffic HD or a similar equal, depending on product availability in your area.
Also Recommended is a regular maintenance schedule for commercial projects using these same products and Cleaners. Note: Excessive Moisture and water type mopping can void warranty.
Commercial warranty exclusions:
- Damage in use due to stains, scratches, gouges, cuts, indentations (heavy static point loads or high-heels), punctures, burns, accidents, discoloration (caused by tracking residue from carpet or vinyl dyes, painted or asphalt surfaces such as driveways), fading or discoloration from sunlight, excessive temperatures from radiant heating systems or any intentional misuse of product.
- Excessive or improper sanding. Contact Zenon Floors Customer Service for instructions before any sanding operations are performed or consult an NWFA Certified Company.
- Wear resulting from conditions other than normal residential or commercial pedestrian traffic.
- Problems due to excessive moisture, alkaline substances, or hydrostatic pressure in subfloor.
- Excessive wet damp mopping or floor flooding.
- Gloss reduction from use and the lack of walk-off mats at entry ways.
- Color variation between samples and/or printed illustrations and actual product.
- Splits, checks or cracks in the flooring from failure to keep installed flooring consistently above 35% and below 55% relative humidity.
- Debonding, buckling, or warping in the flooring from failure to keep installed flooring consistently below 55% relative humidity. Occasional spikes of relative humidity in the 55-85% range are acceptable, but every effort should be made to keep 35-55% relative humidity. (Use of AC and Dehumidifiers is suggested)
- Merchandise installed with obvious defects (The installer is the final Grader, and a board installed is considered a board accepted)
FROM END OF FIRST YEAR THROUGH END OF WARRANTY PERIOD (COMMERCIAL – 3 YEARS, RESIDENTIAL – 25 YEARS), Zenon Floors will supply finishing materials for repair of affected areas, free of charge but will not pay labor costs for refinishing. This offer does not include incurred costs such as furniture removal, substrate materials and supplies.
